Ice Tear

Ice Tear was a performance staged as part of the performance series SOAKED I curated for Company Gallery in New York City. I performed a grieving ritual among a banquet still life and lighting design created by Leigha Mason. Handling oversize tears made of ice I cleanse the body while reflecting upon the passing of a loved one.
I began incorporating Ice into performance as a mourning response.
Ice has revealed itself to be present in all aspects of battling illness and in end of life care. Ice chips provide relief of mouth sores associated with chemo treatment and comfort in dying patients.
