Cerulean Ice Chips

Cerulean Ice Chips was performed as part of Kembra Pfahler and Orlando Estrada’s experimental performance monthly, Incarnata Social Club. The mourning response ritual contemplating the end of life care my maternal grandfather and the medicinal use ice chips. During the performance I coat my skin with chunk of ice, rubbing the ice against the cervical lymph nodes and across the face. I whistle into the audience, evoking the signature finger whistle of my grandfather, calling out into the void of a blue room.
