imago exist as a trailer for a unrealized film that follows a biologist studying the adaptation of animals in desert environments at the Burns Piñon Ridge Reserve, a 303-acre nature reserve that is part of the University of California Natural Reserve System. While in the rugged terrain and remote nature of the environment, s/he begins to lose autonomy over he/r mind and body.He/r skin begins to shed and s/he experiences hallucinations as s/he confronts a fantasy of purification—seeking redemption and renewal.

The piece evokes the experiences of individuals living with mental illness. The film collapses divisions between mind and body and immerses the viewer in physical sensations and emotion while weaving a tale of isolation and illness.The work functions as an effigy of affliction, loneliness and reconciliation.
