Gilded Echo , was a collaborative performance with Minho Nukem staged at the Pfizer Building in Brooklyn NY.
During the performance we engaged in creating a film as we simultaneously performed before a live audience in the converted pharmaceutical space. The piece evokes mythologies surrounding intimacy and illness and functions as an effigy of loneliness and reconciliation.
Each performer was punctured with false arrows and gilded with gold leaf. The use of the gold leaf and the false arrows are nods to religious icons, as well as Cupid and St. Sebastian. Each performer body is depicted in a state of transformation, shape-shifting as they resolve conflict within themselves and with one another.
